Η ταινία αφηγείται την ιστορία ενός
ναυτικού, παλιού μηχανόβιου, που επιστρέφει στην Αθήνα στις αρχές της δεκαετίας
του '80, μετά από 20 χρόνια στα καράβια, λόγω του θανάτου του μικρού του
αδερφού σε μια κόντρα με μηχανές. Επισκευάζει την παρατημένη του μηχανή και βγαίνει στους δρόμους, αναζητώντας την αλήθεια πίσω από τον χαμό
του αδερφού του. Όμως, ο κόσμος έχει
αλλάξει: οι φίλοι του δεν είναι πια οι ίδιοι, τα κορίτσια έχουν προχωρήσει στη
ζωή τους, και οι μηχανές έχουν εξελιχθεί σε θηρία. Οπως λέει και ο ίδιος, είναι
πια «Τoo old to rock'n'roll, too young to die!» Το σενάριο είναι βασισμένο σε αληθινά γεγονότα.
Μία από τις εμπορικότερες ελληνικές ταινίες του 1984, η θρυλική ταινία
του Ανδρέα Τσιλιφώνη επιστρέφει αποκατεστημένη σε 4Κ. Τραγουδά ο Βασίλης
Παπακωνσταντίνου για πρώτη φορά το «Άσε με να κάνω λάθος» σε στίχους
και μουσική του Ανδρέα Τσιλιφώνη.

Ο Ανδρέας Τσιλιφώνης
δραστηριοποιείται στον χώρο της επικοινωνίας για περισσότερα από 40 χρόνια,
αρχικά σαν σκηνοθέτης και μετέπειτα σαν παραγωγός διαφημιστικών ταινιών,
έχοντας ιδρύσει την Central Athens Film Productions. Είναι μέλος της Ένωσης
Παραγωγών Επικοινωνίας (PACT) για 30 χρόνια και τα τελευταία χρόνια διατελεί
Πρόεδρός της.

On Tuesday, 17 November at 19:00 and on Wednesday, 18 November at 21:00 the film THE CITY NEVER SLEEPS (Greece, 1984, 95 min, colour, 4K restoration), directed by Andreas Tsilifonis will be screened in cinema Utopia, in the original Greek version with English subtitles. Not suitable for children under 16.
Synopsis
The
film tells the story of a sailor, an old biker. In the early 1980s, he returns
to Athens after 20 years at sea to find out what happened to his little brother
who was killed during a race. He fixes his abandoned 1939 motorbike and hits
the road. But nothing is the same any more. His friends have changed, the girls
got married, the motorcycles have become beasts. And he is now too old to rock
'n' roll, too young to die. The script is based on real events.

A few words about the director
A
multifaceted man of entertainment and advertisement, he has been a lyricist and
composer, screenwriter and director. He has been active in the field of
communications for more than 40 years, initially as a director and later as a
producer of advertising films, having founded Central Athens Film Productions.
He is a member and vice-president of the Media Producers Association (PACT).
