Les Mariées - Οι Νύφες

Η Ελληνική Κινηματογραφική Λέσχη Λουξεμβούργου θα προβάλει την Τρίτη 17 Μαΐου στις 19.30 και την Τετάρτη 18 Μαΐου στις 21.30, στην αίθουσα 3 του κινηματογράφου Utopia, την ταινία "ΟΙ ΝΥΦΕΣ" του Παντελή Βούλγαρη (Ελλάδα, έγχρωμη, 2004, 122 min, 35mm, γαλλικοί υπότιτλοι)

Υπόθεση

Καλοκαίρι 1922. Ο φωτογράφος Νόρμαν Χάρρις και η Νίκη ταξιδεύουν στο ίδιο καράβι για την Αμερική. Ο Νόρμαν στην πρώτη θέση, η Νίκη στην τρίτη μαζί με άλλες 700 νύφες. Όλες κουβαλούν τη φωτογραφία ενός άγνωστου γαμπρού και το νυφικό τους στο βαλιτσάκι τους. Ο Νόρμαν συγκινείται βλέποντας τις νύφες της τρίτης θέσης. Η Νίκη είναι αυτή που τον εντυπωσιάζει περισσότερο. Σιγά-σιγά γνωρίζονται και ερωτεύονται. Το υπερωκεάνιο "King Alexander" φτάνει στο λιμάνι της Νέας Υόρκης. Στο κατάστρωμα γράφεται ο επίλογος της σχέσης Νίκης-Νόρμαν. Οι Νύφες είναι μια ιστορία για τα δυνατά συναισθήματα, για τα διλήμματα, για τη συνείδηση, για την υπεύθυνη στάση. Για τις μικρές στιγμές, τα βλέμματα, τα αγγίγματα, τα "ναι" και τα "όχι" που μετράνε στη ζωή.

Οn Tuesday 17 May at 19:30 and on Wednesday 18 May at 21:30 in cinema Utopia the GCC will screen the film "BRIDES" by Pantelis Voulgaris (Greece, 2004, colour, 122min, 35mm) in the Greek original version with French subtitles).

Film synopsis:

Summer of 1922. Photographer Norman Harris and Niki are sailing to America aboard the same ship. Norman in first class and Niki in third, together with some 700 other brides. They all carry the photograph of a bridegroom they have never met in their little trunks as well as their bridal gown. Norman is touched when he sees the brides in third class. Niki is the one who makes the greatest impression on him. Gradually they get to know each other and fall in love. The transatlantic liner "SS King Alexander" sails into New York harbor. On deck the epilogue of the Niki-Norman relationship is played out. Brides is a story about strong emotions, about dilemmas, about conscience, about a responsible attitude. It is about the little moments, the glances, the touches, the "yeses" an the "nos" that count in life.

Résumé du film

Eté 1922. Norman Harris et Niki Douka voyagent sur le même paquebot, Norman en première classe, Niki en troisième avec les sept cents autres mariées. Toutes voyagent avec la photo d'un fiancé inconnu et une robe de mariée dans leur petite valise. Les unes émigrent par l'intermédiaire d'agences, les autres par le biais d'orphelinats ou d'institutions religieuses. Norman est ému à la vue de ces futures mariées des troisièmes classes. Niki surtout, la couturière qui s'acharne à gagner quelques sous pendant le voyage, le fascine. Peu à peu, ils apprennent à se connaître et s'éprennent l'un de l'autre. Le transatlantique King Alexander accoste dans le port de New York. Sur le pont, se joue le dernier acte de l'idylle Niki/Norman.
