Η δουλειά της | Her job (2018) by Nikos Labôt

On Tuesday 18 February at 19:00 and on Wednesday 19 February at 21:00 the film HER JOB (Greece, France, Serbia, 2018, 89 min, colour) by Nikos Labôt will be screened in cinema Utopia, in the Greek original version with English subtitles. The film is suitable for children over 16.

Synopsis


Panayiota gets for the first time a job as a cleaner in an attempt to support her family. While at her work environment she faces a ruthless system of exploitation, she spends the happiest period of her so far dull life. But this is not to last for long as the first layoffs are to arrive soon.

An oppressed woman discovers a new sense of self when she gets her first job as a cleaning woman in a shopping mall. A well-observed study of one woman’s unlikely liberation.

A few words about the director


Nikos Labôt (aka Charalampopoulos) studied film directing in Athens, Greece. He has worked on feature and short films in Greece and France, TV series and TV shows. He has directed 3 short films, a creative documentary, music videos and theatre plays. His last short film The Dog participated in numerous international film festivals and won many awards. He has co-directed the theatre play REPULSION_6 for the experimental music performance group Erasers. His feature documentary The Immortals at the Southern Point of Europe premiered at the 15th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and made its international premiere at the 5th Annual Atlanta Philosophy Film Festival 2013.
