Black Stone (2022) by Spiros JACOVIDES

On Tuesday, 23 May at 20:00 and on Wednesday, 24 May at 20:00 the film BLACK

STONE (Greece, 2022, 87 min, colour) directed by Spiros Jacovides will be screened in cinema Utopia, in the original Greek version with English subtitles. The film is not suitable for children under 16.

SYNOPSIS

While filming absent civil servants, a documentary crew stumbles upon Haroula, a desperate, overprotective Greek mother in search of her son. But when he is accused of fraud, Haroula sets out with her other, disabled son and a Greek-African taxi driver to bring him back home where he belongs. Even if this means discovering who her son really is.

Greek-British director Spiros Jacovides transforms an eccentric Athens family's secrets and lies into warm-hearted comedy in his prize-winning debut feature.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Spiros Jacovides was born in London and studied Directing at the Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos. He completed his film studies at the London College of Printing. In 1988, hie was a guest student of the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). He has written and directed three short films. Black Stone is his first feature film.

Η Ελληνική Κινηματογραφική Λέσχη Λουξεμβούργου θα προβάλει την Τρίτη 23 Μαΐου στις 20:00 και την Τετάρτη 24 Μαΐου στις 20:00 στον κινηματογράφο UTOPIA την ταινία BLACK STONE (Ελλάδα, 2022, 87 λεπτά, έγχρωμη, ελληνικά με αγγλικούς υποτίτλους) του Σπύρου Ιακωβίδη. Η ταινία είναι κατάλληλη για παιδιά από 16 ετών.

Προσοχή στην αλλαγή της ώρας των προβολών, που οφείλεται σε λόγους προγραμματισμού του κινηματογράφου. 

ΛΙΓΑ ΛΟΓΙΑ ΓΙΑ ΤΗΝ ΤΑΙΝΙΑ

Η ιστορία ξεκινά όταν δύο κινηματογραφιστές με αφορμή ένα ντοκιμαντέρ για τους υπαλλήλους «φαντάσματα» του Δημοσίου, πέφτουν τυχαία πάνω στη Χαρούλα, μία απελπισμένη, υπερπροστατευτική Ελληνίδα μάνα, η οποία αναζητά τον εξαφανισμένο επί δύο ημέρες δημόσιο υπάλληλο, γιος της.

Όταν το όνομά του Πάνου συνδέεται με μια απάτη και μια αλλοδαπή γυναίκα συνεργό, η Χαρούλα ξεκινάει μαζί με τον άλλο, νεότερο, ανάπηρο γιο της και την βοήθεια ενός πρόθυμου Ελληνο-Αφρικανού ταξιτζή να τον βρει και να τον φέρει πίσω. Θα αντέξει όμως την πραγματικότητα όταν έρθει αντιμέτωπη με το ποιος είναι στ’ αλήθεια ο γιος της και τι τον ανάγκασε να εγκαταλείψει την οικογενειακή «φωλιά»;
