The Godmother | H Νονά (2014) by Stelios Kouloglou

On Tuesday 8 December at 19:00 and on Wednesday 9 December at 21:00 the documentary The Godmother (Greece, 2014, colour, 105 min) by Stelios Kouloglou will be screened in cinema Utopia in the original Greek version with English subtitles. The director will be present for the screening of Tuesday. Not suitable for children under 16 years.

Synopsis 

Α few years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Angela Merkel, an insignificant physicist from East Germany who was not interested in politics, is the most powerful woman in the world. Her teacher from the small town where she grew up, believes that she is the smartest student he ever had. Those who have worked with her, support that “Merkiavelli” exercises power without moral barriers, just as Machiavelli taught. A journalist, who knows her well, supports that she uses the methods of a Mafia godmother. In 2008, the German Chancellor was asked to cope with the international financial crisis. The countries of the South were in the test tube. “If I was writing a book for the shock doctrine now”, says Naomi Klein, “it would be for Greece”. How did Merkel manage to impose the German hegemony in Europe?

Producer and director of numerous grand reportages and documentaries for ARTE, ERT, including «Whistleblowers» (2004), "Welcome to Europe"(2011), “Oligarchy”(2012) and the internationally awarded (Seoul 2009, Zaragoza 2010) «Apology of an Economic Hit Man» (2008).

Η Ελληνική Κινηματογραφική Λέσχη Λουξεμβούργου θα προβάλει την Τρίτη 8 Δεκεμβρίου στις 19:00 και την Τετάρτη 9 Δεκεμβρίου στις 21:00 στον κινηματογράφο Utopia το ντοκιμαντέρ Η Νονά (Ελλάδα, 2014, διάρκεια 105 λεπτά, έγχρωμο) του Στέλιου Κούλογλου, ο οποίος θα είναι παρών στην προβολή της Τρίτης για να μιλήσει με το κοινό. Η ταινία θα προβληθεί στα ελληνικά με αγγλικούς υποτίτλους και είναι κατάλληλη για παιδιά από 16 ετών. 

Λίγα λόγια για την ταινία

Το ντοκιμαντέρ του Στέλιου Κούλογλου Η Νονά είναι ένα ανορθόδοξο βιογραφικό της Άνγκελα Μέρκελ. Ο τίτλος είναι εμπνευσμένος από το ομώνυμο βιβλίο της Γερμανίδας δημοσιογράφου Γερτρούδης Χέλερ (Gertrud Höhler), που μιλά στην ταινία. Βλέπουμε την κα Μέρκελ να ομολογεί ότι τις ώρες που έπεφτε το τείχος του Βερολίνου πήγε για σάουνα. Όμως μερικά χρόνια μετά, η άσημη φυσικός από την Ανατολική Γερμανία που δεν ενδιαφερόταν για την πολιτική, είναι η πιο ισχυρή γυναίκα στον κόσμο. Ο δάσκαλος της στη μικρή πόλη όπου μεγάλωσε, λέει ότι ήταν η πιο έξυπνη μαθήτρια που είχε ποτέ. Όσοι έχουν συνεργαστεί μαζί της υποστηρίζουν ότι η “Μερκιαβέλι” ασκεί την εξουσία χωρίς ηθικούς φραγμούς, όπως δίδασκε ο Μακιαβέλι. Μια δημοσιογράφος που την γνωρίζει καλά, λέει ότι χρησιμοποιεί μεθόδους της Μαφίας.

Το 2008 η Γερμανίδα καγκελάριος καλείται να αντιμετωπίσει τη διεθνή οικονομική κρίση. Οι γερμανικές τράπεζες είναι σοβαρά εκτεθειμένες, αλλά υπάρχει και ένας Έλληνας, από μηχανής θεός. «Αν έγραφα τώρα ένα βιβλίο για το δόγμα του σοκ», λέει η Νάομι Κλάιν, «θα ήταν για την Ελλάδα». Πως η Άνγκελα Μέρκελ κατάφερε να κυριαρχήσει στην Γερμανία και να επιβάλλει τη γερμανική ηγεμονία στην Ευρώπη;

Λίγα λόγια για το σκηνοθέτη

Ο Στέλιος Κούλογλου (Αθήνα, 1953) είναι Έλληνας δημοσιογράφος και ευρωβουλευτής. Είναι απόφοιτος της Φαρμακευτικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και σπούδασε δημοσιογραφία στο Παρίσι, το Τόκιο και την Ινδία. Ξεκίνησε να δημοσιογραφεί το 1981 στο περιοδικό Aντί και αργότερα εργάστηκε ως πολιτικός συντάκτης στην εφημερίδα Το Βήμα. Διατέλεσε ανταποκριτής της εφημερίδας Αυγή στο Παρίσι και το 1989 εγκαταστάθηκε στη Μόσχα, απ” όπου κάλυψε τις εξελίξεις στην Σοβιετική Ένωση και τις άλλες πρώην σοσιαλιστικές χώρες για λογαριασμό του ραδιοσταθμού Sky και της εφημερίδας Η Καθημερινή. Τα χρόνια 1992-95 κάλυψε ως ειδικός απεσταλμένος τον πόλεμο στην πρώην Γιουγκοσλαβία. Επίσης αρθρογραφεί σε περιοδικά και έχει γράψει 7 βιβλία. Le Ciné-club hellénique vous invite à ses séances du mardi 8 décembre à 19h00 et du mercredi 9 décembre à 21h00 au cinéma Utopia avec le film La Marainne de Stelios Kouloglou (Grèce, 2014, couleur, 105 min) en présence du réalisateur le 8 décembre. Le film est en version originale grecque avec sous-titres en anglais. Enfants admis à partir de 16 ans. 

Résumé

Quelques années après la chute du mur de Berlin, une physicienne sans importance d’Allemagne de l’Est indifférente à la politique, est la femme la plus puissante dans le monde. Son professeur de la ville dont elle est originaire, pense qu’elle est l’élève la plus intelligente qu’il n’ait jamais eu. Ceux qui ont travaillé à ses côtés, soutiennent que "Merkiavelli" exerce son pouvoir sans barrières, comme l’enseignait Machiavelli. Un journaliste, qui la connaît bien, soutient qu’elle utilise les méthodes d’une marraine de la Mafia.

En 2008, il a été demandé à la chancellière allemande de surmonter la crise financière internationale. Les pays du Sud faisaient partie des tests. Naomi Klein dit "si j’écrivais un livre sur la stratégie du choc aujourd’hui, ce serait pour la Grèce". Comment Merkel a réussi à imposer la domination allemande en Europe ? Avec une bonne dose d’humour, le film dresse un portrait d’Angela Merkel, et démonte la mécanique mentale d’une physicienne de laboratoire, qui le jour de la chute du mur de Berlin, a « passé sa soirée dans un sauna », et qui aujourd’hui dirige l’Allemagne, en imposant l’austérité et l’appauvrissement accéléré à la Grèce et aux autres peuples de l’Union européenne, sans hésiter à avoir recours à des méthodes mafieuses.
