Résumé
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (2004), le livre de l'Americain John Perkins a été presque deux mois en tête de la liste des best-sellers du "New York Times". Stelios Kouloglou a tiré de ce sujet un docu-thriller politique, une critique de son époque sous la forme de film noir. Même si la preuve décisive reste lacunaire, la docu-fiction de Stelios Kouloglou offre un fragment passionnant de
l'histoire contemporaine, truffée de matériel d'archives, de déclarations du Hit Man, de séquences mises en scène et de rencontres, par exemple avec la fille des Roldos. Images et thèses, faits, déductions et suppositions font réfléchir d'une manière ou d'une autre. Naturellement, on ne doit pas prendre les déclarations de Perkins pour de l'argent comptant, mais de nombreux renseignements et
aveux éclairent et démasquent la politique de force des Etats-Unis de
manière frappante.

Περίληψη
Ο Τζον Πέρκινς από το 1971 έως το 1981 εργάστηκε στην πολυεθνική εταιρία συμβούλων Chas. T. Main ως οικονομολόγος. Στην πραγματικότητα όμως ήταν ένας Οικονομικός Εκτελεστής, στρατολογημένος από τις μυστικές υπηρεσίες των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών. Όπως είχε ορκισθεί όταν στρατολογήθηκε, κράτησε το στόμα του κλειστό ώσπου με αφορμή τα
γεγονότα της 11ης Σεπτεμβρίου του 2001, αποφάσισε να εκθέσει δημοσίως τη αθέατη πλευρά της αμερικανικής εταιρειοκρατίας, συγγράφοντας την "Εξομολόγηση ενός Οικονομικού Δολοφόνου". Στο βιβλίο αυτό βασίστηκε το ομότιτλο ντοκιμαντέρ του δημοσιογράφου Στέλιου Κούλογλου.
Ο Τζον Πέρκινς υπήρξε ένα από τα εξέχοντα μέλη της μυστικής ομάδας των «οικονομικών δολοφόνων», οι οποίοι χρησιμοποιούσαν ψευδείς οικονομικές αναφορές, εξαγορές, εκβιασμούς, σεξ και φόνους για να εξαπλωθεί η αμερικανική αυτοκρατορία μετά τη λήξη του Β’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου.
